Great customer service and privacy while working out

It's not the best but it's the best in town BY FAR! Yea stuff breaks, but they're always fixing it. Equipment works 99% of the time, they really try. Yea it gets busy during peak hours but what do you expect? Really only 2 gyms in SOMD worth anything. Great staff... Mike is the man!! and Evan is great too!

Gym is fine but the Managers locked the TV's so every channel is news or something else! Not that news isn't good but it's Sunday and the NFL is on Sundays! It would be nice to watch some games while running!

All of the treadmills are broken. The ones that don't have a broken sign on them turn off on you while you are going 9 miles an hour. Also now that I am prepping for a bikini competition I need to pose. They now lock the door to the room so you can no longer use it which is ridiculous, I don't see why I am paying monthly for a place I can't practice posing in. I know a couple of members recently canceled their membership for not being able to use that room

This gym is terrible and not maintained. The equipment is never serviced correctly and work improperly. For instance, I love to use a machine called the Stepmill. They have two at this facility and they are constantly broken, probably out of order around 70% of the time. The other 30% they are supposedly "fixed" when they are not. The things become death traps and liabilities. I've busted my shins quite a few times from the belt or whatever mechanism that keeps the steps rotating breaking and me falling 3 to 4 feet immediately. I've called corporate multiple times to complain about the condition of their gym and cardio machines. Yes my main gripe is the Stepmills because that is my preference but ALL the cardio equipment is in poor condition. For instance, the recumbant bikes do not have any foot straps. How can you effectively do high RPMs at a high resistance without foot straps? It's not possible. Stay away from the treadmills all together you will injure yourself. That's just a couple examples...I could go on for days. They say that they will contact the manager and get back to me as soon as possible. It's been two years, I've called them 10 times, and no changes. Also, lets delve into the men's room shall we? It is extremely unsanitary. They are always out of soap and paper towels. I went to this gym tonight, frustrated that both stepmills were out yet AGAIN along with a sarcastic note saying "Out of Order, THAT MEANS STAY OFF" or something to that affect, and opted to leave after using the bathroom. They had no soap and no paper towels. So every guy there is basically walking around with unsanitary hands. Please note that I've mentioned the lack of soap and paper towels as well and nothing has been done. I have to bring my own soap to wash my hands I guess since they are too cheap to maintain this gym. The only, and I mean perhaps only positive of this gym is that they have a lot of equipment and weights are weights. Yeah they are rusted, bars are bent, the pads worn out and full of mold, but at least there is weights. I'm very frustrated because Lexington Park doesn't have any decent gym within a 30+ mile radius. The other gym in California MD or World Gym's competitor is in much better shape but they don't have stepmills and the stepmills was the ONLY reason why I joined this gym. It's the only cardio I can do on a consistent basis without my injuries flaring up. This gym is right by the base, I do love the convenience of it being open 24/7, but I'm beyond disappointed that it's not living up to its potential. Please invest money in upgrading this gym and/or minimally fixing the equipment you have PROPERLY. Key word is properly, not a botched repair where it still doesn't work and will just break again in a week. I would much rather pay twice or even three times as much as I am now to get the gym I'm looking for. I'm quality over quantity, but unfortunately, their is no quality gym in this town or surrounding towns. Please have respect for the Worlds Gym brand, your members, and fitness in general...I doubt the owners will ever do anything about the problems here and honestly this place should be shut down. I also forgot to mention that the staff member who operates the place, usually late or 11pm or later, is a wonderful and very customer service oriented employee. You really need more staff like him that care about the gym and fitness in general.

Only reason they lose a star is they've cut their daycare hours down. At first they didn't charge for daycare which was a plus, then they started charging $10 a month which is still great... now they're still charging but cutting their hours. Not going to go over well.
